It was all about sharing, learning and improving!
As all the engineers exited from the lecture hall in Holiday Villa Johor Bahru, Malaysia, there was a sense of pride and also a tinge of sadness among us after the conclusion the 3-day technical seminar stretching from 11th to 13th Oct.
This biennial seminar was a complete success and a continuation of the Utracon tradition since 2007. 130 participants from 9 different countries congregated into the hotel’s spacious lecture theatre where 24 interesting topics were presented by in house speakers. A deviation from the norm was the exclusion of external invited speakers. Instead, the guest speakers were our Mr Benny Chua (Finance), Ms Geraldine Loong (Corporate Services) & Mr Wilson Chng (IT) whom presented their non-engineering topics which were very well received by all the participants!
As part of the team building event, a sumptuous seafood dinner at Anjung Senibong Seafood Restaurant was arranged on the 2nd night to the delight of all the participants, all hungry for food after an “exhausting” day in the lecture theatre!
Besides immersing ourselves in countless discussions & debates, this 3-day event is an opportunity to get closer to our colleagues, too. Finally, Take care, my fellow Utraconians, looking forward to meeting you again in 2021!
