The National Mosque Project in the New Capital City of Indonesia

The National Mosque, upon completion, is set to accommodate over 62,000 worshippers, making it one of the largest mosques globally. Located on a 3.2-hectare site, the total construction cost close to 1 trillion Rupiah.

The mosque will feature three main structures: the Main Hall, the Plaza, and the Minaret, all being constructed with post-tensioned two-way flat slabs across four stories. The Main Hall will be highlighted by a distinctive dome inspired by the traditional Muslim turban. Complementing the serene atmosphere, the buildings will be surrounded by a man-made lake.

Our Indonesian subsidiary, PT Delta Utracon Synergy, has recently commenced post-tensioning work on this project in Nusantara, Indonesia’s New Capital City.

Despite its location in Kalimantan which is considered safe from quakes and tsunamis, the project adheres to stringent design requirements, especially concerning seismic considerations.

The building employs a separation between the gravity-bearing system (the Flat Slab) and the lateral system (a specialized moment frame), a technique suitable for high seismic zones.
