We’ve reached the finish line on our scope for the Jurong Region Line J102 project—a significant chapter in Singapore’s rail expansion, and one that Utracon Singapore is proud to have contributed to.
This project saw us working across three upcoming MRT stations—Choa Chu Kang, Choa Chu Kang West, and Tengah. Our scope included post-tensioning works for all precast viaduct segments, where we supplied and installed approximately 3,880 tons of PC strand.
Concurrently, our operation teams carried out the erection of 3,008 precast box girder segments, spanning a total viaduct length of 11.5 km. This was executed using two launching gantries under the span-by-span method and four pairs of lifters under the balanced cantilever method.
We also took on the design and supply of formwork and falsework for the viaduct crossheads—a scope that demanded not only technical know-how but also the ability to navigate a competitive and fast-paced construction environment.
With our scope now successfully completed, we want to take this opportunity to recognize the dedication of our teams on the ground. From managing tight urban logistics to coordinating safely across multiple active work zones, this milestone wouldn’t have been possible without their relentless effort.
As the JRL gears up for its opening in 2027, we’re proud to know that Utracon’s engineering work will quietly support thousands of commuters daily—from day one, and for decades to come.
