Incremental Launching Method

This method can only be used when the alignment of the intended spans to be launched are either straight or in a constant radius. The sections of the segments must also be of constant depth.
The casting yard producing the segments to be launched is to be constructed at one end of the bridge. Every segment produced is then launched forward with the help of a hydraulic pulling/pushing mechanism. Subsequent segments cast are connected to their preceding segments via post-tensioning and the entire assembly of segments are continuously launched forward by the pulling/pushing mechanism.
The front of the 1st segment is fitted with a steel launching nose which will help to cut down the cantilever effect of the segments which are to be launched forward towards the next pier.
